Gouache su carta, la composizione è tripartita in tre segmenti verticali che scandiscono anche l’ambientazione dividendo interno ed esterno. Il pannello di destra è popolato da un sovrano, non identificato, in trono affiancato da due attendenti; in centro troviamo due personaggi, tra cui un nobile che probabilmente ha richiesto udienza, e nella porzione di sinistra un gruppo di musici.

Northern India, Mewar, second half 17th century
Gouache on paper, the composition is tripartite in three vertical segments that also mark out the setting by dividing interior and exterior. The right-hand panel features a sovereign, unidentified, on a throne flanked by two attendants; in the centre are two figures, including a nobleman who has probably requested an audience, and in the left-hand portion a group of musicians.
