In ambito cinese Samanthabadra prende il nome di Puxian e viene raffigurato con una forte connotazione femminile, come nel caso di questo dipinto. Il bodhisattva è generalmente associato al santuario sul monte Emei, nel Sichuan. Montata su seta.

Tempera on canvas depicting the Bodhisattva of Truth, seated on a throne in a central position, next to an elephant, his attribute.
In the Chinese context Samanthabadra takes the name Puxian and is usually depicted with a strong female connotation, as in the case of this painting. The bodhisattva is generally associated with the shrine on Mount Emei in Sichuan. Mounted on silk.
